Since Ouachita Baptist University hopes to see many of its Alumni posting their stories, I wanted to join other Tiger Alumni and share my Ouachita story.
Even to this day, I remember taking my first trip to Ouachita for my first monthly session of Upward Bound my sophomore year in high school. I will admit, it was a different experience. Yes, I was nervous but once I arrived on campus, I knew that I would be there for college.
Well, once graduation was approaching I had begun to apply to various colleges in Arkansas. Due, to financial concerns, I almost did not attend Ouachita. However, God had his plan in place. I spent hours in countless prayer asking for a sign.
It is because of the Financial Aid Office, Diane Orsburn, and of course God that I went to Ouachita. The doors opened. During my four years at Ouachita, I grew personally and spiritually more than ever. Some even say, I have begun to stand up stronger than ever for my faith, beliefs, and principals. For that I am thankful to Ouachita.
Lastly, I was blessed to continue hearing Dr. Horne speak to the students about becoming a difference maker to others. After hearing that for the first time in chapel, I know that God has a plan for me to make a difference too many.
I credit Ouachita for doing many great things in my life. Words cannot speak my THANKS to the Ouachita Baptist University Family for giving me the greatest four years of my life. The friends I made, will last a lifetime.
I know wherever I may travel and live in this world; my roots will always run true and deep in that good ‘ole Ouachita Tiger Pride and Spirit.
GO TIGERS! Have a great football season!
